Urge Alameda County District Attorney O’Malley and Supervisors and San Leandro Council and Police Chief to release the names of the police officers who murdered Steven Taylor and charge the officers for excessive force!
On April 18, 33-year-old Steven Taylor was murdered by police in a San Leandro Walmart. Based on the multiple videos, the officer who killed Mr. Taylor had a number of choices in the moments leading to Mr. Taylor’s death but instead shot him within a minute of arriving on the scene.
At the time of his shooting, Mr. Taylor was experiencing a mental breakdown. He was in dire need of medical attention that was never called. Throughout the United States, people of color experiencing mental health crises continue to be killed disproportionately because of law enforcement practices that enable those not equipped or properly trained to handle situations.
It has been more than four months since Steven Taylor was murdered by the San Leandro Police. We join the Anti Police-Terror Project* in amplifying the calls of Mr. Taylor’s family and loved ones that the City of San Leandro release the names of the officers responsible for Mr. Taylor’s death and that those officers be fired and arrested.
It is our duty to stand for justice and take action to ensure that Steven Taylor’s death is not brushed under the rug. We must not stay silent.
PLEASE SIGN THIS ACTION ALERT TODAY!
