Urge President Trump to Sign S. 3744 Into Law

On May 14, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed the Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2020, S. 3744. And on May 27, the House of Representatives passed the bill, sending the bill to the President's desk for signature.

The bill sanctions Chinese government officials responsible for forcing millions of Muslim minorities, predominantly from the Uyghur community, into labor camps or "re-education" camps in the Xinjiang Province of China.

S. 3744 condemns the Chinese Community Party for the camps and "recommends a tougher response to the human rights abuses suffered by Uyghurs, ethnic Kazakhs and other Muslim minorities in the region."

Millions of Uyghurs face persecution in the Xinjiang Province of China because of their ethnic, cultural, and religious background. We are counting on you to sanction China for their horrendous human rights violations against the Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic minorities. Over 2 million Uyghurs were reportedly sent to detention camps where conditions are poor.

This bill demonstrates that the United States is committed to standing against the oppression of the Uyghur community. We hope S. 3744 has your full support. Thank you.
